The Production Upgrade: carry out the priorities
For an existing app, we address confirmed risks and prepare controlled operation. This is a delivery engagement, distinct from Lovable coaching where you remain in control of the application.
The Production Upgrade programme
You do not need to wait for an application to become blocked before asking for advice. During a Lovable build, KERN-IT offers coaching where you make the changes yourself. The Production Upgrade starts when you entrust us with changes to the code or infrastructure. This boundary is explained on our Lovable expert in Belgium page.
For an existing app whose condition first needs to be measured, the Scan establishes the findings and their priority. The Production Upgrade then carries out the agreed actions, with a scope, price and expected result for each workstream.
Workstream 1: address confirmed security issues
Secrets in the browser, overly broad access rules, client-side-only authentication and vulnerable dependencies are addressed when they are actually present. Tests demonstrate each correction. Our Supabase RLS guide explains one common example.
Workstream 2: move the components that need to move
A GitHub repository does not necessarily contain production data, user accounts, files, secrets or deployment configuration. Depending on the platform and project, we migrate or reconfigure the components that should move under your control. Existing data and users are included in the cutover strategy.
Workstream 3: make the app maintainable
Clear structure, tests for critical journeys, usable history and a reproducible deployment allow another developer to take over without relying on our memory.
Workstream 4: make production observable
Hosting, domains, backups, logs and alerts are configured to match the service the app is expected to provide. The selected infrastructure and responsibilities are documented.
Budget and handover
The quote follows the Scan roadmap. Each workstream has a cost, dependencies and acceptance criteria. At the end, you receive the code, documented access, operating notes and a project that can be continued with us, another team or internally.

The questions we keep hearing
How much does a Production Upgrade cost?
It is quoted after the Scan. The quote lists each workstream, its expected result, cost and dependencies. You choose what starts and in what order.
Can the app remain online during the work?
Usually, yes. We work in a separate environment and prepare a controlled cutover. Any unavoidable interruption is identified and agreed in advance.
Can we commission only part of the roadmap?
Yes. Security, migration, maintainability and production work are scoped separately whenever their dependencies allow it.
Move from findings to fixes
The Scan defines the scope. You then choose which workstreams to start and in what order.
